TERAPRESS is terazosin hydrochloride, the substance which belongs to alpha 1 blockers class. It relaxes smooth muscles of the arteries and lowers blood pressure. Dosage and direction
take this medication exactly as prescribed to you with or without food. The recommended dose of TERAPRESS is 1 mg once time before your bedtime. The dose may be gradually increased up to 10-20 mg take once daily.

Precautions
Follow all recommendations of your doctor. Never take more of the medication than it was prescribed to you. Take TERAPRESS with a full glass of water. As this medication may cause drop in blood pressure and dizziness take it before your bedtime, especially first doses. Dizziness and drop in blood pressure are also possible if you restart taking Hytron after a break. Blood pressure or prostate tests should be done on a regular basis while you are on TERAPRESS. Do not stop taking this medication even if you feel fine.

Contraindications
TERAPRESS cannot be administered to the patients with hypersensitivity, hypotension, in pregnant and breastfeeding women, and in children.

Side effects
Weakness, fatigue, drowsiness, restlessness, headache, dizziness, paresthesias, decreased libido, changes in vision, tinnitus (noise in the ear), "a phenomenon of the first dose" (a sudden and severe decrease in blood pressure and orthostatic collapse after the first dose), hypotension, tachycardia, arrhythmias, peripheral edema, cough, bronchitis, xerostomia (dry mouth), sore throat, nausea, vomiting, arthralgia, myalgia, decline in hematocrit and hemoglobin, leukopenia, hypoalbuminemia, hypoproteinemia, flu-like syndrome, allergic reactions.

Drug interaction
Inform your doctor if you are currently treated by sildenafil (Viagra, Revatio), vardenafil (Levitra), tadalafil (Cialis), other blood pressure medications such as verapamil (Isoptin, Calan, Covera, Verelan).
